YMCA / HES Solar Coloring Contest Winners Announced!

YMCA solar partnership in San Diego County coloring contest

Our judges have sorted through 218 amazing works! They have selected two winners in the YMCA of San Diego County / HES Solar partnership coloring contest. The contest was promoted inside the YMCA facilities and on social media and the websites of the Y and HES Solar. We thank every young artist who created their design and also every adult who submitted the artwork. This contest was a great way to promote the YMCA of San Diego County’s important place in the city. Also, the artwork was a fun way to show San Diego solar at work on a fun-to-color page.

We also want to help our partner get out the message that any San Diego resident can use the YMCA facilities for free until Oct 25, 2021. This coloring contest is to help the YMCA recover from the lockdowns. Their free offer is an amazing way to remind people that all 13 of their San Diego area locations are back. The Y is fully functional and providing services and facilities!

And now, with no further ado, the 2021 HES Solar and YMCA of San Diego County Coloring Contest winners are…

Age Category 3-5 years old

In the ages 3 to 5 category, the winner is Manu-Kai M.

Both winners will receive a $100 certificate! It is good toward participating in a program at any YMCA of San Diego County location. The high number of entries for this contest is a great sign. It demonstrates the YMCA of San Diego County’s continued return after the lockdowns hit the great organization so hard.

The 2021 partnership with HES Solar is one small step in bringing the YMCA back to pre-pandemic levels of membership and services. Also, the partnership offers a great offer for San Diego homeowners or business owners looking to go solar. Installing solar with HES Solar through this partnership helps the YMCA with a donation.

San Diego Solar

This solar offer allows San Diego residents looking for the best solar system to support the YMCA when they install a home solar system. Whether you are looking for a modest rooftop solar array or a large home solar installation including energy storage with a home battery and an EV charging station, HES Solar is the best solar installer in San Diego. We will custom- design a system that is perfect for your home energy needs.

We will continue our partnership with the YMCA and we’re looking forward to more great participation events. We’re already working on more ways to help bridge the YMCA facilities to San Diego residents.

Thank you again to all of the participants of the 2021 coloring contest. The YMCA of San Diego and HES Solar representatives loved to see all the talent as well as the participation. If you used the YMCA facilities before the lockdowns we hope you’ll re-join. And if you’re looking for a home solar build partner we hope you’ll consider HES Solar as  your San Diego solar partner.

But wait, there’s more… Our judges found so many great pieces of artwork that they decided to award three Runners Up awards in each category. Each of these young artist will receive a prize.

NET ENERGY METERING 3.0 INFORMATION

Net Energy Metering 3.0 (NEM 3.0) is the incoming law created by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The new tariffs and fees will impact both residential and commercial solar systems built in California.

As this notice is posted in November of 2022, the Proposed Decision from the CPUC outlining the proposed NEM 3.0 terms is expected soon. This comes after a year’s delay. Once the new agreement is finalized and passed into law, there will exist a designation of the deadline under which new systems will continue to qualify for NEM 2.0 rates.

The new NEM 3.0 rates will be designed to lower the value of electricity during the daytime hours, when solar is producing, and increase the value of electricity during the evening hours, when solar homes and businesses purchase electricity. In short, NEM 3.0 will create a “sell low, buy high” proposition to new solar system owners.

To Californians looking to install a solar system on their home or commercial building, the NEM 2.0 rates will be preferred. As of this post, the solar industry does not know the details of how different the NEM 3.0 rates will be from the NEM 2.0 rates.

Please use the HES Solar website as a resource to learn more, and please take our offer to speak with an HES Solar Energy Consultant at no obligation.
