They are seeking an experienced Commercial Operations Manager to join their team in supporting the operations, processes, management, and quality control required to develop and build Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System projects.

You Will:

  • Oversee all commercial PV and storage operations while managing, mentoring, and supporting 6 direct reports (Construction Manager, Project Managers, and Design Team).
  • Oversee career development of Commercial Operations team through one-on-one meetings, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed. 
  • Promote design and process standardization with considerations for supply, vendor management, and other constraints to ensure projects are efficient to design and construct.
  • Manage processes for use of ERP system (NetSuite) to improve analytics, quality control, reporting, and data control. 
  • Manage revenue generation as it pertains to projects, focusing on budgets, quality control, billing, design/engineering, permitting, construction timelines, and related metrics. 
  • Lead and provide technical direction to the Design and Project Management teams, while providing updates to management regarding project statuses. 
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure escalated customer concerns are addressed and solutions are implemented rapidly.

  • Experienced in rooftop C&I, carports, and ground mount project management with practical project experience to effectively address project design and construction challenges and nuances.
  • Results-oriented and take direct action to meet or exceed objectives while partnering with internal and external organizations.
  • Decisive in making commitments and ensuring they are met.
  • An effective communicator to leadership, to your team, and to supporting teams.

What You Bring to the Team:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of proven success in an operations management (or equivalent) role. 
  • Two or more years of experience managing commercial solar PV projects (design, permitting, sourcing materials, construction, quality control, and more).
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and improving business processes, with an ability to effectively train new and current team members on updated or new procedures. 
  • Strong skills in budget development, oversight, and reporting. 
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service.
  • Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
  • Working knowledge of business productivity software (ERP systems) and an aptitude for learning new applications.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support effective execution and collaboration with customers, vendors, and contracted resources.
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of California.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Working knowledge of management software programs (ERPs or similar), including NetSuite and Google Suite.
  • Financial and account reporting experience.
  • Proficient with office tools, communication tools, and scheduling/construction management tools.

Target Comp Range:

Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000, depending on experience.

  • Up to 15% annual bonus based on performance.

  • San Diego County, CA
  • Hybrid office opportunities available after probationary period.
