Residential Project Manager III

As a Residential Project Manager III, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of residential solar, energy storage, and roofing projects from initial assessment to project completion. You will collaborate closely with the Project Coordinator, Designers, and Installers to ensure seamless project execution and exceptional customer satisfaction.

PROJECT-LEVEL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Utilize HES Solar’s software systems to document all aspects of each project 
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of project scopes and Site Survey findings at project acceptance
  • Initiate Welcome Calls with homeowners, followed by detailed email documentation of  what was covered during the call
  • Manage all customer communication from contract execution to project closeout, ensuring clarity and transparency
  • Set and manage homeowner expectations regarding payment milestones and project timelines
  • Oversee all stages of the project, including HOA approvals, permitting, installation, inspections, and utility interconnection
  • Efficiently schedule installation teams on calendar to optimize crew utilization
  • Ensure inspections are passed or manage punch-list items to timely completion 
  • Ensure timely completion of inspections and manage punch-list items as necessary

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Effectively manage 75-100 active projects concurrently, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
  • Provide guidance to Project Coordinators on various project aspects, including permitting and HOA approvals
  • Conduct regular meetings with leadership to review project needs, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement best practices for project execution
  • Consult with the Warehouse Manager on equipment procurement and logistics
  • Monitor accounts receivable and take necessary actions to ensure timely payments
  • Conduct regular customer visits to monitor project progress and address any issues promptly

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE NEEDED

To be successful in this position you will need to have a strong sense of ownership and accountability. You need to be self-driven, organized, able to manage multiple projects at once, and be able to communicate effectively and professionally with our customers and our teams.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • This is an office-based role. You must be willing and able to work in the office on weekdays.  
  • Valid California driver’s license, valid auto insurance, a clean driving record, and dependable transportation
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, CBC, AHJ, and OSHA codes and regulations
  • Exemplary representation of the HES brand and commitment to quality

Robert Laverty joined the HES team in the summer of 2018, bringing his ten years of solar design experience and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Puget Sound with him. Robert is dedicated to finding solutions to help families produce and store electricity in order to reduce their reliance on grid power as well as help reduce their household’s carbon footprint. Robert’s experience as a newspaper editor as well as his involvement with the sustainability-focused Rocky Mountain Institute drives him to constantly seek out innovative ways to meet energy needs through renewable resources as well as helps him share those ideas with Southern California homeowners. When not at work or volunteering time with his church or community, Robert spends time with his wife and two sons or pursues his passion of fly fishing.
