Going solar presents a great time to add or upgrade your home garage car charger. If you have an electric car and want to increase your home vehicle charging speed or create a system to optimize your charging time, we will guide you to pick the right car charger for your home and for your new solar system (If you already have solar, our Service department can pair a charger with any permitted existing solar system).
A home solar project creates the ideal time to take advantage of having HES Solar energy experts at your house upgrading your home electrical capabilities. We are an experienced, local home energy company and with the introduction of home EV charging stations, we’re the best partner to start you on your journey to zero-emissions driving.
We know solar, we know home batteries, and we know EV charging. Put our energy expertise to use for you and get an EV charger integrated as part of your home solar project. Even if you don’t currently own an electric car, be ready with home charging station capability and a solar system designed with future EV use factored into its production requirements.
We provide the top vehicle chargers for your home. We are certified installers of Chargepoint and will show you the best option for your home high speed charging station. The Chargepoint Home Flex or Telsa Wall Connector charger will dramatically decrease your home charging time compared to a standard connection. We’ll understand your rooftop solar and any home battery storage and help you pick the right charger, decide the optimal charging strategy, and maximize the return on all of your energy investments.
If you don’t currently own an electric vehicle and don’t anticipate buying one, you can still use the opportunity of your solar installation project to have HES Solar electricians install a 240-volt outlet in your garage. This will prepare you if an EV does find its way into your lifestyle as well as provide an additional attractive feature on your home to any potential buyers should you decide to sell your home in the future. Get the job done by the energy experts, and do it at a time when they are already upgrading your home’s electrical system with your solar installation.
Net Energy Metering 3.0 (NEM 3.0) is the incoming law created by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The new tariffs and fees will impact both residential and commercial solar systems built in California.
As this notice is posted in November of 2022, the Proposed Decision from the CPUC outlining the proposed NEM 3.0 terms is expected soon. This comes after a year’s delay. Once the new agreement is finalized and passed into law, there will exist a designation of the deadline under which new systems will continue to qualify for NEM 2.0 rates.
The new NEM 3.0 rates will be designed to lower the value of electricity during the daytime hours, when solar is producing, and increase the value of electricity during the evening hours, when solar homes and businesses purchase electricity. In short, NEM 3.0 will create a “sell low, buy high” proposition to new solar system owners.
To Californians looking to install a solar system on their home or commercial building, the NEM 2.0 rates will be preferred. As of this post, the solar industry does not know the details of how different the NEM 3.0 rates will be from the NEM 2.0 rates.
